Recommendations and Precautions for the Care of Your Recently Painted Vehicle:
First 30 Days:
Washing your vehicle:
- Wash in the shade and make sure the surface is cool to the touch to avoid water spots
- Always use clean, fresh and cool water
- Wash by hand
- Do not use a commercial car wash, use a very mild car wash solution and a soft cloth or sponge because stiff brushes and sponges can damage the surface
- Wash from the top of your vehicle down
- Do not dry wipe your vehicle, it will scratch the surface
Driving
- Do not drive on gravel roads because the finish can be easily chipped, especially in the first 30 days
Parking
- Avoid parking under trees, utility lines, or anything that might attract birds. Bird droppings have high acidity which will damage a freshly painted surface
- Also avoid parking under trees because tree sap will mar or spot the freshly painted surface
- If bird droppings, tree sap, or bug splatterings get on your vehicle, be sure to wash them off as soon as possible
Snow and Ice Removal
- Do not scrape snow or ice from the freshly painted surface. Ice scrapers act like a paint scraper on a newly painted finish.
Spilling
- Be careful not to spill gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid or windshield solvent on the new finish. If you do, remove it quickly.
First 90 Days:
Waxing
- To allow the finish to dry and harden completely, do not wax or polish your vehicle
- After 90 days, waxing should become a part of your regular vehicle maintenance and should be done 3x a year
